Catch Up

Where has the beginning of November gone? I have been cooking, but there has been limited amounts of sewing to share – oops. I knew November would be busy, but I havn’t had a moment to share all the things I have been up to. Sorry. Here is the quick version.

I made this -
lasanga

It is Barefoot Contessa’s Portobello Mushroom Lasagna. Make it immediately. It was delicious, very rich, but delicious.

I made this -
big plate of pork and apples

Pork and apples are a fall staple so I had to make this before it became winter. This was a friend’s recipe, so if you want me to share let me know and I can. I just wasn’t going to type it all out. It is great though. Perfect Fall food.

I got a new pot!
pretty

She is beautiful. Thanks, Kevin!

I made this -
chili

texas beef brisket chili

Bon Appetit’s Texas Brisket Chili in the new pot. It was time consuming, but worth it. You need a solid six hours to make this the day before you want to eat it. I did not realize that when I started making it at seven on a Friday night.

I infused some of this -
mango

mango

The mango tea was delicious!

Another fun new addition to the peg board. Can you spot my new kitchen tools?

what's different?

Few, I think that is it. Sorry for the absense.

Lots of good things happening in this post, but I am here to talk about the Texas Brisket Chili. It was out of control good. I’m glad that Christin has the patience for a recipe that takes 6 hours to cook, because it was well worth all the effort!

I also can vouch for the brisket. I, who never have seconds, got up for more. It was melt in the mouth delicious. The flavors kind of rolled around in your mouth, very yummy. Thanks Christin, for a fabulous lunch. The pot is beautiful.
